This is a 15 year old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, distilled in 1967 and bottled by Samaroli at 57% in a 75cl bottle. It was matured in sherry wood and carries the Silver Cap name. Laphroaig of this vintage dates to a time when the distillery's own malting floor supplied all of its malt. Samaroli, known for choosing his own casks, had released his first bottles in 1979 and the Flowers series in 1981, and this Laphroaig followed a year after that. One reviewer found a chocolatey, smoky sherry on the nose. With water, the nose turned earthy, with rich, compost-like notes.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
