An Islay single malt from Laphroaig, distilled in 1970 and bottled in 1985 by Gordon & MacPhail for Meregalli. It is bottled at 55.2% in a 75cl bottle.
Tasting notes describe a mineral, medicinal nose with chartreuse-like herbal tones, wet rock, camphor, aniseed, mint, cedar and grapefruit, followed by unripe mango and star fruit. The palate is full and sharp together, with liquorice, mango chutney, marmalade, myrtle, sloe, kippers, salt and ashes. The finish is very long, citrusy, waxy, peaty, salty and medicinal.
