Refill sherry butt
A 16 year old single cask Laphroaig from Islay, distilled in February 2001 and bottled in April 2017 by Hunter Laing for its Old Malt Cask series, at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a refill sherry butt, which lets the distillery character come through, with fruity, coastal notes joined by sherry-cask fruit and spice. The nose is heavily medicinal and peaty over honeyed barley. The palate is bold and meaty, with streaky bacon, black liquorice and more peat smoke. The finish brings blackcurrant sweets and smoked barley.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
