Laphroaig – 25 Year Old 2011 Edition Cask Strength (70cl, 48.6%)

This is Laphroaig 25 Year Old in its 2011 edition, an Islay single malt bottled in 2011 at cask strength, 48.6%, in a 70cl bottle. It is rich and smouldering, with a big coal hit and a lingering seaweed character. The cask strength 25 year old is described with a pale gold colour, a dry, mineral nose of coal smoke and hessian, and a sharp, medicinal palate of lemon, grapefruit and brine. The finish is long and very smoky.
