A 25 year old Laphroaig bottled at cask strength in 2016, at 48.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. This official bottling won the IWSC Trophy for Best Cask Strength Single Malt.
The nose is calm and mineral, with dry white wine, chalk, butter, cream, coal smoke, hessian and raw wool. The palate is sharp and medicinal, with lemon, grapefruit, brine, oysters, walnuts and fresh almonds.
The finish is long, leafy and limey, and very smoky.
