This is a 27-year-old Laphroaig, a single malt from Islay released as a limited edition.
Part of the whisky matured in refill quarter casks, while the rest went into first-fill bourbon barrels. That combination is credited with giving the malt depth, character and flavour. The spirit was distilled at Laphroaig and bottled in March 2017 at 41.7% ABV, keeping the classic Islay identity at the centre.
