Laphroaig 30 Year Old is an Islay single malt released in 2024, bottled at 45.8% ABV. It spent 30 years maturing in American oak barrels and European oak ex-sherry hogsheads and butts, which add sweetness and vanilla from the American oak and depth from the sherry wood alongside the distillery's peat smoke.
The nose is fruity and sweet, with zesty orange and lemon peel, vanilla custard and treacle toffee. The palate brings bergamot, sweet pastries, fresh thyme and white pepper. The finish is smouldering peat smoke with sooty campfire notes.
