This is a 34 year old Laphroaig single malt, bottled at 45.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is the fifth and final release in a series honouring Ian Hunter, who shaped the history of the distillery.
The whisky was double matured in first-fill ex-bourbon American oak barrels and European oak Pedro Ximénez hogsheads. The colour is a deep copper.
The nose is lightly peaty, with iodine, burnt wood, green malt, candyfloss, vanilla fudge, blueberry and raspberry. The palate pairs peat smoke and cold barbecue ash with salted caramel, butterscotch, roasted chestnuts, peach and white pepper. The finish is long and warming, with malt, gentle peat and soft sweetness.

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
