Laphroaig Cairdeas 2025 Lore is a cask strength Islay single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 59.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle without chill filtration. Cairdeas, Gaelic for friendship, is an annual limited release for members of the Friends of Laphroaig programme.
This edition takes the multi-cask approach of the Lore bottling to full strength. Whisky matured separately in ex-bourbon barrels, European oak casks, Oloroso sherry butts and quarter casks is married together.
The nose is apricot, peaches in syrup, lemon cream and coconut over gentle peat smoke. The palate brings peat, sea spray and black pepper, then lemon zest, mint, cumin, clove and ginger. The finish is very long, citrus-sweet and smoky.
