Laphroaig – Oak Select (70cl, 40%)

Laphroaig Oak Select is an Islay single malt in the Laphroaig core range, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from whisky taken from several kinds of cask: oloroso sherry butts, white American oak, Pedro Ximenez seasoned hoggies, quarter casks and first-fill bourbon casks. The nose is medicinal peat with citrus, chocolate and soft barley. On the palate the peat is gentle, leaving lemon, green apple and mint to the front, with darker baking spice developing later. The finish is medium in length, with the peat lasting to the end.
