Laphroaig Quarter Cask is an Islay single malt bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is matured twice in American oak: whisky from ex-bourbon barrels is moved into smaller quarter casks, a size that gives more contact with the oak and a soft, velvety edge alongside the distillery's peat.
The colour is full, sparkling gold. The nose has burning peat embers and hints of coconut and banana. The palate is deep, complex and smoky, with a gentle sweetness, and the finish is very long, drying with smoke and spice.
