Laphroaig Quarter Cask is an Islay single malt matured in quarter casks. The style draws on the small casks used in the 19th century to store and carry Scotch whisky across the Scottish hills and glens.
The smaller casks give a pairing of smoke and oak. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered, with colouring added. It won gold at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and at the 2019 SIP Awards.
The palate is deep, complex and smoky, with an unexpected light sweetness.
