Lock, Stock & Barrel 21 Year Old is a cask-strength straight rye whiskey made from 100% rye grain, bottled at 55.5% (111 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
The spirit was distilled at Alberta Distillers in Calgary, double distilled in copper pot stills, and barrelled in May 1999 in new charred American oak. It matured in Alberta's cold climate, and the bottling is by Cooper Spirits Company.
Tasting notes describe spiced date cake, treacle toffee, orange peel and baking spices on the nose. The palate is full-bodied and oily, with treacle, caramel, coconut, cocoa, cinnamon and anise. The finish is long, with leather, oak tannin and a slightly smoky rye spice.
