The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt from The Macallan, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It has matured for twelve years in a combination of American oak and European oak casks seasoned with sherry.
The American oak casks were seasoned with sherry in Jerez, Spain, and the whisky takes its colour naturally from the oak.
The nose offers dried fruits, gentle oak, vanilla and light spice. Honey and soft citrus emerge on the palate with a mild nuttiness, and the finish is medium in length, with warm wood and faint spice.
