Macallan Fine and Rare 1997 is a single cask Speyside single malt, bottled at a cask strength of 54.8%. It was filled into a first-fill European oak butt, seasoned with Oloroso sherry, on 20th January 1997 and matured for more than 26 years. It was bottled without chill-filtration or dilution, and the cask yielded 538 bottles.
The nose brings dark cherries, Medjool dates, raisins, cinnamon and sticky toffee pudding. The palate moves from vanilla, baked apple and nutmeg to resinous oak with aniseed and clove. The finish is long, with spice, lingering sweetness and dried fruit.
