Macallan – 12 Year Old Double Cask

Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt that combines American and European oak. Some of the casks are seasoned with Spanish Oloroso sherry. The American oak is described as adding delicate vanilla, while the Spanish oak brings dried fruit and cinnamon. The whisky is matured for 12 years and has a deep golden colour. The nose offers creamy butterscotch, toffee apple, candied orange and soft vanilla custard, with fresh oak. On the palate there is honey, warming wood spice, citrus, raisins and creamy caramel. The finish is long and warm, sweet and gently drying.
