Macallan Double Cask is a 12 year old single malt from Speyside. Macallan has made whisky at Easter Elchies since 1824.
It is matured in two kinds of oak: European oak casks seasoned with sherry, and American white oak previously aged in Spain. Together they bring vanilla and citrus notes to the house's fruity character.
The nose offers soft caramel, creamy vanilla and candied orange. On the palate come liquid honey, caramel and raisins, with cinnamon and lively citrus. The finish is dry, with spicy oak, lasting vanilla sweetness and a touch of orange peel.
