This is a Macallan Gran Reserva, a 12 year old single malt from the Speyside distillery in Craigellachie, Scotland. It was distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2007, in a run of 15,000 bottles at 45.6% ABV.
The whisky matured in first fill sherry wood.
The notes describe a fruity, spicy sherry aroma, followed by a sweet palate with dark chocolate, orange, grapefruit and cashew nuts.
