This is Macallan 12 Years Old in the Old Label presentation, a Speyside single malt from Scotland matured in sherry oak casks. It was bottled by the distillery at 40% and comes in a 70cl bottle.
On the nose there is gooseberry, dark jam, vanilla, a little cinnamon, honey and a hint of ginger, with a touch of citrus. The palate is mature, complex sherry with a slight bittersweet edge, alongside orange, mandarin and toffee.
The finish is of medium length and soft, with fruit, orange, mandarin, cocoa, toffee and plenty of sherry character.
