The Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt from the 2024 release, matured in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, at natural colour.
The American oak is described as adding vanilla, caramel and citrus, while the European oak brings dried fruit and spice.
The nose offers dried fruit, ginger, toffee and rich orange, with hints of clove and nutmeg. The palate has raisin and sultana, caramel, vanilla and ginger, with wood spice and zesty citrus. The finish is warm oak spice and ginger, turning to sweet orange.
