Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak is a Speyside single malt from the 2023 release, matured for 18 years in oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry from Jerez in Spain. The distillery was founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid.
The colour is a natural mahogany, and ripe oak, ginger and raisin run through the whisky.
The nose is of dried fruits and ginger, with touches of vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate it is soft and rich, with cloves, orange and toasted ripe oak. The finish is long and lingering, with dried fruits, ginger and orange peel.
