This is the 2024 release of Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak, a Speyside single malt matured for 18 years in sherry casks from Jerez.
The whisky has a light mahogany colour. Its character is built around ginger, dark chocolate, dried fruit and oak.
The nose is rich with sweet pastry, candied ginger and sultana raisins, with a touch of orange and ground cinnamon. On the palate, ginger coated in dark chocolate sits with dried apricots, oak and a little vanilla sweetness. The finish is long, led by dried fruit, ginger and oak.
