Macallan – 1851 Inspiration Replica (Asian Edition)

Macallan 1851 Inspiration Replica is a Speyside single malt without an age statement, released as an Asian edition. It looks back to a time when authenticity mattered a great deal. Macallan acquired antique bottles dated 1841, 1851, 1861, 1874 and 1876, and began making replicas of them, down to the vintage-style flask. In 2000, laboratory analysis showed that 70% of those old bottles were fakes, despite their supposed age of 10 years. Replica production stopped, and Macallan went on to make the Inspiration whiskies instead.
