This is a 19 year old Macallan from the Speymalt range selected by Gordon & MacPhail. It was distilled in 2005, matured in a hogshead and bottled in 2024 at 56.5% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 343 bottles.
The nose is floral at first, with white lilac and lily of the valley, then candied lemon and orange, balm and hay, before turning malty and spicy with a note of rice pudding. The palate brings banana and pineapple, a liqueur-like quality of old Sauternes, cardamom and sandalwood. The finish is long and silky, with liquorice and cigar smoke.
