Macallan – 1979-1997 18 Year Old Sherry Cask (70cl, 43%)

This is an official Macallan single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1979 and released in 1997 at 18 years old. It was bottled by the distillery at 43% in a 70cl bottle and came in the classic blue ribbon packaging. It belongs to the 1970s Macallans bottled for the 18-year-old and 25-year-old Anniversary Selections, and is regarded as an example of the richer side of Speyside whisky made in that decade. The flavour is built on intense, luxurious raisin and date sherry notes.
