This is a distillery bottling of Macallan 18 year old from Speyside, distilled in 1986 and released in 2004 at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It was the last of the 'blue ribbon' official 18 year old bottlings before the packaging changed to a new bottle shape.
It is described as rich, dense and robust, with notes of nuts, chocolate, hints of gunpowder and flint, stewed and dried fruits and classic sherry intensity. The texture is soft and the character leathery and fruity.
