This Macallan was distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2020 by Gordon & MacPhail after 20 years in a sherry cask, number 1760. It was bottled at cask strength, 56.7% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, and only 278 bottles were filled.
The nose is intense and complex, sweet and lightly nutty, with vanilla, honey, orange, cocoa and a little toffee. The palate is rich and balanced, with toffee, vanilla, orange, a slight bitterness, coffee and spicy oak. The finish is long, creamy and soft, with some fruit, nuts, sultanas and oak.
