This is the 2021 release of the Macallan 30 Year Old Double Cask, a Speyside single malt aged in Oloroso sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The Double Cask whiskies are described as having toffee, dried fruit and cake spices on a backbone of elegant oak. The colour is golden acorn.
The nose offers fresh honeycomb, sweet toffee, red apple, fig and vanilla pod. On the palate are cinnamon, ginger, Madagascan vanilla, dried fruits and oak. The finish is sweet oak with soft spice and toffee.
