Macallan – 30 Year Old Sherry Cask 1990s (70cl, 43%)

This is a Macallan 30 Year Old Speyside single malt, bottled by the distillery in the late 1990s and presented in a blue wooden box. It was bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured entirely in sherry casks, which were filled in the 1960s. Many of them would have been older than the 30-year minimum when they went into the batch. The notes describe dark stewed fruits, clean, resinous and earthy sherry, aged cognac and sticky toffee pudding.
