A Macallan Alchemist single malt from Speyside, aged 18 years. It was distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2011 at 46%, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is rich with forest fruits, sweet aromatic woodsmoke and antique oak, alongside nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla pods, herbal and leafy notes and treacle toffee. On the palate there are black cherries, plum jam, dark chocolate orange, almond and custard pastry, and ginger sponge with cloves, with sweet woodsmoke and loose tea leaves. The finish is long and complex, with a sweet, lingering smokiness.
