Macallan Amber belongs to the former 1824 Series, in which colour played a central part. Its warm gold shade comes entirely from the cask, with no added colouring.
The whisky was matured exclusively in sherry-seasoned oak casks. The nose combines vanilla, citrus zest, soft raisin, cinnamon and light sherry influence. The palate is fresh and smooth, with lemon, orange peel, toffee, light spices and subtle oak. The finish is medium to long, fruity and softly spicy, with a touch of sherry.
