Macallan – Distil Your World: The London Edition (70cl, 57.5%)

This Macallan single malt was made in collaboration with the Roca Brothers, owners of El Celler de Can Roca in Spain, a restaurant twice named Best Restaurant in the World. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 57.5% ABV, and belongs to the Distil Your World series, which follows the brothers as they explore different cultures and cuisines. The packaging shows a map of London. The nose combines nutmeg, sweet Earl Grey tea, orange caramel, lemon-grass, kaffir lime, soy sauce and polished oak. On the palate come wood and curry spice, treacle sweetness and aniseed, with a slightly salty, umami feel. The finish is long and savoury.
