This is the Macallan Easter Elchies Black, a limited-edition Speyside single malt released in 2019 and bottled at 49.2% in a 70cl bottle. It takes its name from Easter Elchies House, the distillery's spiritual home, built in 1700 from local quarry sandstone. The release is inspired by an autumn evening in the Scottish Highlands. The whisky is described as carrying a light touch of peat smoke alongside dried fruit and spice. Tasting notes mention a nose of green apple, toffee, lemon and mandarin, with cardamom and liquorice. The palate has fresh apple and citrus, and the finish is medium dry, with lemon, apple and sweet peat smoke.
