Macallan Edition No. 1 is the first release in a yearly series of limited edition single malts, in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV. It is drawn from eight styles of European and American oak cask, and moves from soft oak notes to deeper, richer flavours.
The nose has orange, apple and dried fruit, with vanilla, toffee and chocolate beneath the oak. On the palate, warming wood spices lead to nutmeg, cinnamon, dried ginger and toffee, with fresh, balanced fruit appearing later. The finish is soft and lingering.
