Macallan – Folio 4 (70cl, 43%)

Macallan Folio 4 is a single malt from Macallan, bottled at 43% abv in a 70cl bottle. The release draws on an advertisement for the distillery that included a strathspey composed by James Scott Skinner (1843-1927), known as the Strathspey King. The text of the advertisement says Skinner was moved to write music by a tumbler of his favourite malt, The Macallan. That advertisement appeared in The Times and was the first to show musical notation on a page of a British newspaper, and quite possibly the first in any whisky advertising.
