This is Macallan Oscuro from The 1824 Collection, bottled in 2010 at 46.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in Oloroso sherry oak casks. Macallan is a Speyside distillery in Scotland.
The nose combines vanilla, very sweet spice, cinnamon, dark fruits, grapes and cooked oranges, with a little dusty sherry, almonds, caramel, toffee and chocolate.
The palate is sweet, with a touch of rum, vanilla, wood shavings, honey and well-integrated malt, plus a rush of candied fruit and chocolate pieces and a faint trace of smoke. The finish is very long and gently sweet, with spice, toffee and chocolate.
