Macallan Rare Cask Black is a Speyside single malt from the distillery's 1824 series, bottled by The Macallan at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited release drawn from fewer than 100 casks.
It is a richer, smokier take on the Rare Cask style. The nose brings dried fruits, figs and dark sweetness with a hint of smoke. The palate is full-bodied, with nutmeg, rich fruit, polished oak and gentle smoky warmth, and the finish is long and fruity with lingering spice and a subtle smoky edge.
