Macallan – Robert Burns Semiquincentenary (46%)

Macallan Robert Burns Semiquincentenary is a single malt made for Homecoming Scotland 2009 to mark the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns's birth in 1759. Two sibling Sherry-seasoned casks, one distilled in 1997 and the other in 1998, both numbered #1759 for his birth year, were married to fill 250 crystal decanters. Each decanter comes in a Scottish red-pine box holding a vellum scroll of Burns poetry, unique to each bottle. Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, it is described as showing orchard fruit, honeyed malt and polished oak.
