A Speyside single malt from Macallan, the first release in The Harmony Collection. It was created with the pastry chef Jordi Roca and whisky maker Polly Logan, with chocolate as its theme. It is bottled at 44% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in European and American oak casks seasoned with sherry, chosen to bring out chocolate notes.
The nose offers chocolate fondant, honey, oak, lime and ginger, with a hint of vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate are dark chocolate, honey, dates, vanilla and cinnamon, with subtle wood spice. The finish is long and velvety, with chocolate, honey and gentle oak.
