Macallan Lumina is the second release in the Quest Collection, a series that explores the influence of oak on the distillery's Speyside single malt. This 2017 release is bottled at 41.3% in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in three types of oak cask: European oak sherry-seasoned casks together with two styles of American oak sherry-seasoned casks.
The official notes describe a harvest gold colour. The nose brings citrus, apple and pear, then lemon zest, toffee and oak. The palate moves from wood spices and ginger to fresh apples, sweet vanilla and soft oak, and the finish is of good length, warming, soft and dry.
