Maker's Mark 2024 Greats of the Gate 'Man O' War' is a Kentucky straight bourbon released in Kentucky Derby season through the distillery's Private Selection programme. It honours Man O' War, the 1920 racehorse widely regarded as the greatest thoroughbred of the 20th century.
The base is the standard wheated Maker's Mark at 45% ABV, finished with a custom combination of seasoned wood staves. The Greats of the Gate series pays tribute to horses from Churchill Downs racing history, and each annual release uses its own stave configuration to add flavour beyond the usual bourbon. It comes in a 75cl bottle.
