A 7 year old cask strength Kentucky straight bourbon from Maker's Mark, released as a limited edition exclusive to the distillery in Loretto. Maker's Mark rarely puts an age statement on its bottles, which makes this one unusual.
The nose combines toffee, toasted oak, vanilla, baking spice, wheat and grain, with a touch of cinnamon and citrus zest. Caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, citrus and baking spice run through the palate, with wheat behind them.
The finish is of medium length with a coating mouthfeel, and brings black pepper, tannins and dry oak.
