Maker's Mark is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Its mash bill uses red winter wheat as the secondary grain instead of rye, and the distillery draws on limestone-filtered water from its own spring.
It is matured in new, heavily charred American white oak barrels and aged to taste rather than for a set period. Each bottle carries the brand's hand-dipped red wax seal.
The nose offers caramel and vanilla with dried apricot and a little toasted oak. The palate is smooth, with brown sugar, butterscotch and delicate spice in a creamy texture. The finish is medium in length, with sweet oak, baking spice and lingering warmth.
