The Stewards Release is the 2026 edition of the Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series, release code EBE-26. It starts as fully matured, cask strength Maker's Mark, a wheated Kentucky bourbon from the distillery in Loretto, and is bottled at 109.8 to 113.3 proof. It is signed by Rob Samuels, grandson of the founders.
The bourbon is given a second maturation with ten virgin oak staves placed in the barrel, and the bottle is sealed with red wax.
The nose offers orchard fruit and vanilla bean over toasted oak and caramel. The palate is thick and full-bodied, with raw honey, stone fruit, baking spice and oak tannins. The finish is long and sweet, with dark honey and cinnamon.
