Mars Kasei White Blended Whisky (70cl, 40%)

Kasei White is a Japanese blended whisky from the Mars Komagatake Distillery in the Nagano Alps, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is made by Hombo Shuzo, and the blend is made without added colouring. Spring water from the mountains, filtered slowly through rock, is used at the distillery. The whisky is a clear yellow-gold in the glass. The nose offers honey, ripe apple, white blossom and a touch of vanilla. The palate is velvety, with juicy pear, ginger soda and cinnamon alongside a light citrus note. The finish carries fine pepper and a hint of lemon tart.
