A single cask Komagatake from Mars Whisky, bottled for its Asian exclusive label, which has been released once a year since 2016. This one is from 2015 and spent three years and seven months in a bourbon barrel. It is bottled at 59% ABV, one of 235 bottles, and the malt is peated to 3.5ppm.
It is described as clean and sweet, typical of the Shinshu distillery, with a mild and delicate aroma and taste.
The nose offers plum, mint and violets. The palate has pear, lychee and a hint of butter, with mild vanilla and a persistent oak bitterness.
