This is a 30-year-old single malt from the Mars Komagatake Distillery in Miyada Village, Nagano Prefecture. Two casks of malt distilled in 1986 and aged in sherry were vatted together, and the whisky was bottled in 2016 at 53% ABV in a 70cl bottle. 163 bottles were produced.
The label carries a painting by the Japanese-style painter Yasunari Ikenaga.
The whisky is fragrant and elegant, with a rich, sweet aroma reminiscent of ripe plums, and a mellow flavour.
