Mars Single Malt Komagatake (70cl, 45%)

Mars Single Malt Komagatake is the main single malt of the Mars Komagatake Distillery, which stands at the foot of the Komagatake range in the Japanese Central Alps. It is bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle and is chill-filtered. The whisky has matured for over three years in bourbon barrels, sherry casks, port casks and wine casks, among others. The distillery draws on meltwater filtered through granite layers, and the whisky has a deep gold colour. The aroma is described as apple tea and apricot. The palate is soft and rounded, with honey, almonds and the warmth of ripe persimmon, and the finish is gently sweet and clean.
