This is a 12 year old Japanese pure malt whisky from Masahiro, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was matured for more than 11 years in ex-bourbon American oak hogsheads, then finished for 12 months in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks before bottling. The nose offers ripe citrus, dried apricot, jammy plum, nuts and honey. Juicy fruit opens the palate and gradually turns to mellow candied fruits, malt syrup, almonds and toasty bread. The finish is long, with oak and a run of hazelnut, walnut and cashew.
