Meikle Tòir The Original 5 Year Old (70cl, 50%)

This is a 5-year-old peated Speyside single malt from the GlenAllachie distillery, sold under the Meikle Tòir name. The peat comes from St. Fergus on the Scottish mainland, so its contribution is noticeably sweeter than that of coastal peat. It was matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon, American virgin oak and rye whiskey casks, and is bottled at 50% ABV, without chill-filtration and with natural colour in a 70cl bottle. The flavour is described as peat, honey, almonds and ginger.
